 successfully conducted its executive elections, with Hon. Chidi Yakubu Concord emerging as chairman in a resounding victory over his closest contender, Brown Eneh. The keenly contested election took place on Saturday in Udi, Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State. Hon. Chidi Yakubu Concord secured an emphatic win with 197 votes, leaving Brown Eneh trailing with 77 votes. The election process, however, was not devoid of controversy and logistical challenges. Electoral Controversy and Venue Change Prior to the election, tensions flared within the AGN Enugu chapter following an unexpected change in the venue. Initially scheduled to hold in Enugu, the election was relocated to Udi a mere 12 hours before the commencement of voting. This sudden shift sparked considerable debate during the AGN Enugu manifesto meeting at the National Museum of Unity, Enugu. Despite these challenges, the election proceeded, culminating in the emergence of a new executive body. Speaking to journalists after his victory, Hon. Chidi Yakubu Concord acknowledged the hurdles encountered but affirmed that the electoral process ultimately produced legitimate winners. "I had to rush down from Nsukka to Udi to participate in the election," he stated, underscoring the urgency and unpredictability that characterized the electoral process. Breakdown of Election Results A meticulous breakdown of the election results across various leadership positions reveals the following: Chief Whip Accredited votes: 126 Void votes: 50 Two-thirds requirement: 117 Total votes cast: 176 Public Relations Officer (PRO) Accredited votes: 115 Void votes: 61 Two-thirds requirement: 116 Total votes cast: 176 Treasurer Void votes: 55 Two-thirds requirement: 116 Total votes cast: 175 Financial Secretary Accredited votes: 121 Void votes: 52 Two-thirds requirement: 116 Secretary Accredited votes: 128 Void votes: 46 Two-thirds requirement: 114 Total votes cast: 171 Vice Chairman Accredited votes: 121 Void votes: 54 Two-thirds requirement: 116 (did not meet the threshold) Chairman Total votes cast: 274 Invalid votes: 5 Brown Eneh: 77 votes Chidi Yakubu Concord: 197 votes Total accredited votes: 279 A New Dawn for AGN Enugu Chapter With the conclusion of the election, Hon.
