Enugu State Partners with Comedians to Boost Entertainment and Tourism
In a bold move to position Enugu State as a cultural and entertainment hub in Nigeria, the Association of Enugu State Comedians and MCs (ASESCOM) held a high-level strategic meeting with the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dame Barr. Ugochi Mmadueke.
Led by ASESCOM President Comr. Philips Odih C., the two-hour session focused on harnessing comedy, creative arts, and culture as tools for youth empowerment, economic growth, and tourism development. The meeting reflects the commitment of Governor Dr. Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s administration to invest in the creative economy.
Commissioner Mmadueke reaffirmed the government’s support for local talent and pledged collaboration to open global opportunities for entertainers. “This partnership signals a new era,” said Odih. “The Commissioner’s vision is exactly what our industry needs.”
The meeting is expected to spark innovative policies that promote cultural tourism and elevate the Southeast’s creative landscape. Enugu is taking the lead in transforming entertainment into a powerful economic force.
