JUSTIN;Enugu State Government Backs First-Ever “Laugh and Walk” Comedy Fitness Event

The Enugu State Government, through its Ministry of Culture and Tourism, has approved and is fully supporting a new and exciting event called “Laugh and Walk,” organized in partnership with the Association of Enugu State Comedians and MCs (ASESCOM).
This special event will take place on Saturday, August 2, 2025, and it is the first of its kind in Nigeria. Participants will walk through the major streets of Enugu while comedians perform and crack jokes along the way. The idea is to keep people entertained, healthy, and happy all at the same time. The walk will start at Okpara Square, passing through Government House, New Haven, Ogui Road, Stadium, Presidential Road, and then return back to Okpara Square. The event is being held in appreciation of the good work done by Governor Dr. Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah in supporting entertainment and youth development in Enugu State. The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dame Barr. Ugochi Mmadueke, met with members of ASESCOM and praised their creative idea, promising the ministry’s full support to see it succeed. Speaking on behalf of the organizers, ASESCOM President Comr. Odih Philips Chinweuba (Mc I Don Show) and the event Chairman Mc Don D (Daniel Maduka Enwerem) encouraged the public, entertainers, and media houses to come out and join the walk. They described the event as “a fun way to celebrate fitness, comedy, and unity among the people of Enugu.” Everyone is invited to be part of this unique event where laughter meets exercise on the streets of Enugu.
